US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken had a telephone conversation with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
“The Secretary of State called for reducing the tension and also urged to start a direct dialogue between Armenia and Azerbaijan to resolve the issues related to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict or arising from it,” the press service of the State Department reports.
Blinken later commented on the phone conversation in a tweet.
“I assured the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, that the United States is ready to engage and contribute to the dialogue between Azerbaijan and Armenia in order to achieve stable peace in the South Caucasus,” he said.
Let’s remind that yesterday Blinken also had a phone conversation with RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
